  8. This shower is legendary for producing 
  9. some of the greatest showers in history. 
  10. Associated with Comet Tempel-Tuttle, 
  11. showers in 1867, 1868 and 1883 hit rates 
  12. of 10,000/hour. The morning of November 17,
  13. 1966, produced the greatest recorded shower
  14. with rates estimated at 150,000/hour! (The 
  15. author of this program slept through it, 
  16. and has regretted it since). Look for 
  17. another peak in 1999 when the 
  18. comet returns.
